While I have spent the last 30 years creating advertising for some of America’s largest clients, that was what I did to earn money. Motorcycles are what I did to enjoy whatever I earned.
Five years ago, I wrote a book called World’s Fastest Motorcycle, which chronicled the machines of the Bonneville Salt Flats–a few of which have gone more than 375 mph. After completing that book, famed fabricator Sandy Kosman suggested I do one on motorcycle drag racing. With his invaluable help, I have.
While the book has been challenging given the scope of the subject, it has also been incredibly fulfilling. Many of the people I grew up reading about are now friends, and a few of the motorcycles I grew up fantasizing about are now mine.
At any given time I have three or four motorcycles in the living room. I also have a very understanding family.
